Sensum

Sensum builds automatic visual inspection and sorting machines for solid dosage, from Ljubljana. Its SPINE system inspects tablets, capsules, and softgels at up to 830,000 products an hour, handling coated, uncoated, multilayer, laser-drilled, and engraved tablets as well as full, empty, printed, and transparent capsules.
Around it sit variants for specific problems: SPINE Hypo for highly potent products, where the inspection has to happen inside containment, and SPINE FIBO, which combines inspection with counting and bottle filling so product is verified and packed in one pass. STREAM handles capsule inspection and sorting, and Helix covers lifting, dedusting, and polishing ahead of inspection.
Patvis APA is a process analytical technology system for automated particle analysis rather than finished-dose inspection. Transparent and printed products defeat simple contrast-based vision, and the company positions its work around those and around print inspection. Sensum is part of the IMA Group.
