Coperion K-Tron

Coperion K-Tron builds the loss-in-weight feeders and material handling that continuous pharmaceutical manufacturing runs on. Continuous direct compression, wet and dry granulation, and hot melt extrusion all depend on accurate feeding. Its K3 pharmaceutical feeders use SFT digital weighing with a resolution of 1:4,000,000.

The K3-PH line is modular: QT20, QT35, and QS60 twin and single screw feeders share the same D4 platform scale and drive units, and a V200 vibratory version covers granulations and uncoated tablets. Feed rates run from 0.013 to 2,012 liters an hour on the screw feeders and 5 to 1,600 on the vibratory, the SFT scale returns a weight signal in 80 ms, and every unit carries a two-degree pitch for drainage during wet-in-place cleaning. Construction is to cGMP with FDA-approved materials.

The wider Coperion group covers compounding and extrusion, feeding and weighing, and bulk material handling, with the ZSK twin screw extruder line used for hot melt extrusion in pharmaceutical work as well as in plastics and food.
