Rheo Engineering designs GMP material handling and containment systems: drum tippers, transfer and charging equipment, and turnkey process systems built around a specific plant's constraints rather than sold from a catalog. Based in Peoria, Illinois, with an office in Germany.
The product range is organized by what the equipment does to the material: move it, transfer it into and out of containers and process systems, contain it with engineering controls at various containment levels, handle it in single-use flexible systems, keep it inert by holding low oxygen concentrations during solids addition, or process it.
Vessel charging is a recurring project type, including high containment charging and charging in Class I Division 1 hazardous environments where an ignition source cannot be tolerated. Founded in 1997 as EHS Solutions, the company grew from a safety provider into a broader material handling and process technology business, keeping containment at the center of its design work, and now runs its own testing center where a handling approach can be proven before it is built.
