Qualicaps

Qualicaps makes both the capsule and the machine that fills it. Founded in Japan in 1965 and part of Roquette since 2023, it supplies hard gelatin and HPMC capsules alongside filling, sealing, checkweighing, inspection, and laser-printing equipment, handling powder, granule, liquid, and mini-tablet fills.

Dosing problems on a capsule line can be a capsule dimension or shell property issue as much as a machine setting, and a single supplier can address either.

Its capsules serve pharmaceutical solid oral dosage forms and dry powder inhalers, where the shell has to release cleanly in an airstream rather than dissolve in the gut, along with health and nutrition, and consumer healthcare products. Around the products the company runs scientific and technical engineering services rather than selling equipment alone. HPMC capsules matter to formulators avoiding gelatin for stability, dietary, or moisture-sensitivity reasons.
