Quadro invented the conical screen mill in 1976, and the Comil has been the reference point for size reduction and deagglomeration in solid dosage ever since. The range runs from lab-scale units to high-capacity production mills, plus the F10 fine grinder and FlexSift in-line security screener. Now part of IDEX MPT.

In the conical design, material is driven against a screen by a rotating impeller inside a cone, which sizes powder at lower energy and with less heat than a hammer mill, an advantage for heat-sensitive actives.

The company has kept refining that same principle rather than replacing it, and now offers one of the widest conical milling ranges available. The three product families answer three different jobs: milling for tight particle size distributions, fine grinding for precisely controlled reductions, and delumping and screening for deagglomeration without unwanted size reduction. Quadro also serves cosmetics, food, chemical, and biotechnology manufacturers.
