Bormioli Pharma

Founded in 1825, Bormioli Pharma developed into a major producer of pharmaceutical primary packaging, including glass and plastic containers, closures, accessories, and drug-delivery systems for oral, parenteral, ophthalmic, and nasal products. Its nine European production sites became part of the Gerresheimer Group when Gerresheimer completed the acquisition in December 2024.

The range spans both materials rather than specializing in one: molded and tubular glass alongside plastic bottles and vials, with the closures, droppers, measuring devices, and administration systems that go with them. The range appears in oral liquid, injectable, and ophthalmic lines rather than a single format.

Since the acquisition the Bormioli Pharma portfolio has been folded into Gerresheimer's wider offering for the pharma and biotech industry, and the company's own website now points visitors to Gerresheimer for current product information. The Bormioli name remains attached to the Italian operations and their long history in glass.
