PTI has built non-destructive package leak testing equipment for the pharmaceutical, medical device, and food industries since 1984. Its sensory technologies are vacuum decay, MicroCurrent HVLD, helium leak detection, pressure decay, airborne ultrasound, and force decay. Alongside the instruments it runs laboratory testing services, training, and consultative support for container closure integrity work.

The reason for carrying so many is that no single method suits every package. Sensitivity, container material, and whether the product is liquid, lyophilized, or a device all change which test is defensible.

The alternative, dye ingress, destroys the sample and gives a subjective result. USP <1207> emphasizes deterministic test methods over probabilistic ones of that kind. In life sciences the work covers parenteral packaging for biologics and cell and gene therapy products, and Class III medical device sterile barriers. PTI also serves food, beverage, and nutritional packaging, including infant formula, and inline bottle leak testing on blow molding lines.
