OPTIMA

OPTIMA designs filling, packaging, and production systems for pharmaceutical, biotech, and other life science applications. Its Green Bay, Wisconsin operation opened in 1985 as the German group's first international subsidiary and has grown into a major North American sales, service, engineering, and support center, supplemented by additional service operations in North Carolina and Puerto Rico.

The group builds machines for precise dosing, filling, and packaging of both liquid and solid products, and sells turnkey production facilities as well as individual machines. Pharmaceutical and biotech is one of nine industries it serves, alongside cosmetics and personal care, food, hygiene, diagnostics, medical products, chemicals and household cleaning, energy and fiber-based packaging, and OPTIMA argues that platforms proven in one industry transfer usefully to another.

The group runs more than 20 locations worldwide with roughly 3,700 employees. Recent investment has gone into digitalization of filling and packaging plant, and into machine network security, including a VPN developed with LANCOM Systems.
