Glatt installed the pharmaceutical industry's first fluid bed dryer in 1959 and has built the category out ever since. Its fluidized bed systems handle drying, granulation, coating, and pelletizing in batch or continuous operation, including the GPCG series, which scales from laboratory batches through to full production.

The company remains an independent family business founded by Werner Glatt, and now works in more than 160 countries across 18 locations, with over 17,000 projects behind it. Its pharmaceutical work runs in two directions. Process Technology Pharma supplies the systems themselves, from laboratory units through commercial-scale plant.

Glatt Pharmaceutical Services is a CDMO that develops and produces solid dosage forms using that same technology, specializing in multiparticulate systems such as pellets, micropellets, and granules for taste masking, improved solubility, modified release, and stabilization. It manufactures for clinical studies and market supply, and runs the analytical and stability work behind scale-up. Glatt also serves food, feed, cosmetics, and fine chemicals.
