Stäubli launched the first six-axis robot able to work inside an aseptic production area (the Stericlean) in 2008, and now offers Accesspharma, Stericlean, and Stericlean+ ranges to match cleanroom grade. The enclosed design and surface treatment let the arms be sanitized with IPA and bio-decontaminated with vapor-phase hydrogen peroxide.

Stericlean is the Grade A and B range. Its arms come from the TX2 six-axis line, including the TX2-60 at 670 to 920 mm reach and 3.7 to 4.5 kg payload, and a TX2-90 Stericlean variant rated to ISO 14644-1 Class 5; both run on the compact CS9 LP controller. Two further cleanroom lines sit outside the Stericlean range, the CR version rated to Class 4 and the SCR version to Class 2.

Stäubli lists the pharmaceutical work as API and biotherapeutic production lines, industry-scale filling and packaging of liquid, powder, and solid medicines, loading and unloading systems for freeze dryers, autoclaves, and parts washers, packaging material production, and automated processes in laboratories and pharmacies. It groups this into six sub-industries, from biotherapy and drug production through pack material, drug research, and pharmacy automation, and develops much of the portfolio with OEMs and integrators.
